I want to dispel a big fat myth before we get into the nitty-gritty of this training. Many entrepreneurs assume that in order to attract clients that’ll buy from them over and over, they’re going to have to market a lot more. So yes, you have to let your future clients know you exist, BUT...  

It’s the mindset and the foundation you create behind your client-attraction strategies that make clients line up around the block… or cause them to ignore you.

I want to be very clear that any time I refer to getting new clients… I expect that the only clients you want are your most ideal. There is no other type of client to want. In fact, when you market to or take on clients who aren’t ideal, you’re unintentionally sabotaging your efforts to make more money and are inviting stress into your life.  

I call ideal clients “5-Star Clients” because they’re the very best for you in every way. 5-Star Clients are naturally attracted to the products or services that you most love to offer. They’re literally prewired to say yes to you without much convincing. And you don’t have to have all your ducks in a row to have clients say yes.  

The first few years of my business was hard. Getting new clients took almost all of my time.  

I blamed my suffering on my lack of marketing skills. I thought it was because I was unpolished.  

Eventually, through sheer force, I got more private clients, but I was still working tons of hours to keep the pipeline full. I wasn’t charging enough, either. When I broke down how much money I made after all the hustling, it was only $23 an hour! Most of my clients made more than me!  

I was irritated, overwhelmed, and sick of stressing about money. Finally I cracked and said NO MORE!  

I decided to triple my coaching fees. That move felt very risky because I was scared new clients wouldn’t say yes to my new rate! Many of you have probably felt that same way too, right?  

I diligently worked on my mindset and began making decisions like a six-figure earner. That year I tripled my income and brought in $103,000. My first six-figure year!

It was exciting for a year, but then I plateaued for a decade.  

I was a certified master coach, had the right connections, spoke on stages with hundreds of potential clients in the audience, but my income wouldn’t budge. I was starting to believe that I’d never be able to attract all the clients I wanted.  

Everyone who knew me agreed that my coaching was masterful, but my marketing and offers were confusing and all over the place.  

I then began streamlining everything I offered to serve only my 5-Star Clients. That decision felt risky for so many reasons...  

But I was blown away at how fast my income doubled.

And my income kept doubling from one year to the next. I further streamlined the process into a client-attraction formula that was customized to my zone of genius. That was 8 years ago. Now thousands of clients have used the formula, and the results are predictable: Follow it and you become a client magnet. Nobody is immune from its power to crank up your client flow unless you’re unwilling to make the changes. 

The reason we can’t attract new clients is not a surface-level issue. We have to dig deeper.

So let’s uncover why your ideal clients aren’t buying your programs, products, and services even though they’re amazing… and how to pivot so clients can flow in. 

The first strategy is to FULLY shift into a 5-star mindset.  

A fluffy positive outlook is not what I’m talking about here. You could believe that your 5-Star Clients exist... But that won’t stop you from making major one-star decisions in your business and setting yourself back. Oftentimes you make decisions purely from habit and are not even aware your choices are not that great! Here’s how this plays out in real time. Let’s say your ideal client is a corporate leader who’d optimally work with you over a 12-month period for the best results. But you continually take on non-leadership clients who want quick fixes, and you offer them one-month packages when they ask… Because you feel you just need to get some money in the door, and some money is better than no money. When you adjust your offers, your hours, or your pricing just to get the client, you’re operating from a scarcity mindset. You think you won’t get clients, so you adopt a one- or two-star mindset. But after a few years, you’re still not attracting those high-level leaders who want to make lasting change in the world… because deep in your heart you don’t believe that the clients you most want to work with will see the value of your offer. You don’t see what you offer as the perfect solution for your 5-Star Clients. Or maybe you believe that attracting all the clients or customers you want requires massive action to get them to notice you. You crack the whip on yourself to be more productive and continue doing stuff outside of your genius zone because you believe it’s the only way to get new clients. Again, these actions are driven by scarcity and fear. Scarcity thinking will also prevent you from investing in what’s best for your business from the get-go. The fear of failing or going broke is always lurking in the back of your mind, so you tell yourself you’ll invest in the stuff that helps you once you make more money. Interesting logic, right? You’re not expecting to make money; you’re expecting to lose it. When you doubt your ability to make more than enough money in a way that feels fun and fulfilling, your energy is like having a black cloud over your business… even if you’ve pasted a smile on your face. Your ideal clients aren’t turned on by you, because you’re not turned on by the decisions you’re making. You’re not in your power, and you’re not playing to win. Scarcity thinking is dangerous because it becomes your natural mode of operation, and you’re not even aware you’re doing it.  

Do a quick check-in: do you currently operate with a 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-star mindset? This is just to make you aware, not to beat yourself up over.  

The first step to letting go of scarcity decision making is awareness. Then commit to sharing a message and offers created specifically for your 5-Star Clients with love. This is not a one-time decision… it’s a forever thing that takes practice, but serving your 5-Star Clients will eventually become normal. A pet healer, Cathy O’Brien, came into my Five Star Client Formula program struggling to get clients and overwhelmed by all she thought she had to do to fix this issue. I asked her to make a commitment to overcome her long-standing scarcity mindset. Like me, she initially felt nervous to fully embrace a 5-star business model, but she focused on the prize… attracting 5-Star Clients in abundance while doing exactly what she loved. We focused on an abundance mindset daily. And it paid off. She tripled her income that year, making more money than ever before. Don’t forget that part of elevating to a 5-star mindset is investing in things that uplevel the quality of your business and mission. You don’t have to upgrade everything all at once, but you do want to make one small decision after another. Clients are attracted to people who radiate confidence and stick to their passion. If you want more clients to buy your stuff, move into a 5-star mindset and make 5-star decisions. This alone will have more clients saying yes.  

The second strategy to unleash your natural client-attraction superpowers… and increase your sales immediately without doing more marketing is to move into 5-star pricing.

This is when your head and your heart are fully aligned with your prices.  

Almost every entrepreneur who struggles with attracting a steady stream of income is not rock solid with their pricing.  

Business owners often choose prices based on what they think their clients will pay or what they can bear to charge without freaking out. Or they look to see what other companies are charging for similar products, programs, or services.  

Many of my clients ask me, “What do you think I should charge?” That question should be illegal.  

How can someone outside of your business know the best price for your stuff?! They can’t!  

That’s like choosing a price out of thin air.  

5-star pricing isn’t about pricing high vs. low… because that’s all in the eye of the beholder. Only you know what pricing makes sense for your business model.  

I have an entire formula for pricing in the Five Star Client Formula that we don’t have time for now, but I’ll give you 4 guidelines to get you moving into 5-star pricing right now.  

Guideline #1. Your price needs to be profitable based on your expenses and on how much income you need to feel secure and to have extra left over for a relaxed lifestyle. You also have to consider the number of clients you’d need or number of products you’d have to sell in order to generate more than enough income.  

Guideline #2. You need to be able to state your price and feel damn good about it… you have to truly believe that your offer is worth every dollar! Adjust it higher or lower to get to that perfect-for-you number.  

Guideline #3. The pricing for everything you offer needs to be congruent. If you offered a veggie burger for $5 and a cod fish sandwich for $25, it wouldn’t make sense to have them on the menu together. Likewise, it wouldn’t make sense for me to offer a 2-month group program for the same investment as private coaching with me for the same time frame.  

Guideline #4. Never price based on what you think people will pay. Your 5-Star Clients will buy at whatever price you choose because they’re wired to want what you have. You’ve created your offers specifically for them.  

If potential clients keep saying they can’t afford you, that means you have some scarcity belief about your pricing and the value of your offer.  

Whether they have extra income or not is irrelevant, your 5-Star Clients will invest at whatever price you choose when you provide a solution they really want. They’re resourceful and they’ll find a way.  

Don’t let your internal limitations about money get in the way of profitable pricing.  

This is not about gouging clients or seeing how high you can boost your prices. You can charge $100 or $100,000 as long as you use the four 5-star pricing guidelines from above.  

Here are 3 make-or-break pricing questions to ask yourself: 1. Will this price allow me to generate more than enough income? 2. Can I fully stand behind this price? 3. Are the prices of all my offers congruent? It’s time to upgrade to 5-star pricing so you can attract more 5-Star Clients! Let’s move to the most critical strategy to crank up your flow of clients. Unfortunately, many people refuse to dig in deep with this one because it takes a bit more energy… but if you want an abundance of clients, you must do this strategy.  

The third strategy is to create 5-star offers.

This third strategy means you create programs, products, and services specifically for your 5-Star Clients. You create solutions based on their needs and wants.  

And then you deliver on your promise.  

So many entrepreneurs create random offers.  

Avoid being an entrepreneur who, instead of designing your offers specifically for your 5-Star Clients, maybe you just slap a product or service together because, hey, you just need to hurry up and get something out there.  

Or maybe you create something because you think it will rake in the big bucks rather than dig into the soul of your future 5-Star Client’s mind. Or maybe you created your stuff eons ago, but now you and/or your 5-Star Clients have changed.  

The point is, you’re offering something without tapping into the specific energy, needs, and desires of your 5-Star Clients.  

So now you’ve got yourself a 1-star offer or a whole lineup of products and services that aren’t attractive to the people you most want to serve.  

Just because your offer doesn’t sell doesn’t necessarily mean you need to ditch it. It may just need a few tweaks.  

5-star offers speak directly to your clients’ most prevalent top-of-mind problems and the solutions they most crave. And of course, a 5-star offer will have 5-star pricing. 

A quick way to know if you’ve got a best seller on your hands is to ask yourself these 2 questions:

  • What do my clients want most, in their own words?  
  • Does my offer deliver that... and if so, will that be clear to my 5-Star Clients?  

Most entrepreneurs are totally off the mark with this. I’d say 80% of the people who enroll in my programs have to shift their offers. But it’s worth it when clients start buying!  

If you have more than one offer, they need to build off of each other so that your clients see an entire menu of solutions that leads them down a path toward their desires.  

Once your clients consume your first offer, they’ll have a new set of challenges and desires that your next offer should solve.  

You don’t want offers that take your clients down different roads so they feel lost. A confused mind says no.  

Your 5-Star Clients want to invest with you over and over. Don’t deprive them by offering things that aren’t specifically tasty for them.  

Clients won’t ever buy if your program, product, or service doesn’t speak to their soul. Often, it’s something they want, but the way you communicate what’s in it for them is a disconnect.  

One of my Five Star Client Formula clients, Laurie Zerga, was doing personal transformational work with women. But when she dug deep into what her clients most wanted and what was most fun for her to deliver, she shifted her offer to be about business transformation. It became the most lucrative service she offered!  

The clients began finding her instead of her having to market.  

5-star offers make you 100% confident that your 5-Star Clients will bite because your offer speaks directly to their soul.  

This confidence flips your attraction switch to mega wattage.  

When you trust that your offer speaks directly to your 5-Star Clients’ needs, they will trust you and automatically invest. You won’t have to try to sell them; they’re already sold.

Let’s recap the 3 strategies that crank up your client flow:  

Strategy # 1: Shift from scarcity-driven decisions into a 5-star mindset. Everything you think and do is designed to grow your business with 5-Star Clients.  

Strategy #2: Move from 1-star pricing into 5-star pricing using the four guidelines and three questions I shared.  

Strategy #3: Create 5-star offers. This strategy is the most critical because even if you dial in your mindset and pricing, a 5-Star Client won’t invest in a product, program, or service not created specifically for them. 

It’s important to ask yourself…  

Am I ready to have a 5-star business that delivers more than enough income, or am I going to keep doing things that give me 1-star results?  

When you step into a 5-star business, you’ll simplify your life, make more money, and serve ideal clients and customers who energize you every day.  

Saying yes to a 5-star business means no more chaos, panic, fear, overwhelm, doing stuff you hate, or serving people who irritate you. Everything you do is intentional and created through inspiration.  

A 5-star business gives you more than enough money to live the way you want. It’s fun and easy to grow because you only offer things that light you up and that attract 5-Star Clients.  

 Client attraction becomes automatic.  

You can learn ALL the best ninja strategies to collect leads and drive people to your website, but if you haven’t nailed the 3 strategies we covered today, nobody will buy, because you’re NOT serving up the right thing with the right price point to the right people… and you don’t have the right mindset fueling your client-attraction activities. The whole thing is a BUST!  

The challenge is that you can’t just fix one thing in your business and all of a sudden have 5-Star Clients banging down your door. And you’ll have to do more than just clarifying the characteristics of your 5-Star Clients or raising your prices.  

That’s what most entrepreneurs do. They think if they shift one thing, it’ll change everything. But that thinking actually delays success because these entrepreneurs hyper focus on a quick fix.  

You’ve got to set yourself up to win the long game so clients will show up today, tomorrow, and every day after that. And a winning mindset is a huge part of that.  

If your mindset isn’t 5-star to its core, it can n.egatively impact multiple areas of your biz, like the clients you choose, the products and services you create, how you price them, and how you share them with the world.  

You don’t want to spend years trying to reach your income goals. Or serving clients that are demanding and not paying you enough money or who only buy your cheapest stuff and never come back for more. And you don’t want to put hours or even years into a product or service that your 5-Star Clients don’t want.  

The secret to attracting 5-Star Clients starts from the inside out… deciding to step fully into a 5-star mindset and business model and backing it up with new actions.  

After coaching tens of thousands of entrepreneurs the past 24 years, from complete business newbies to 6- and even 7-figure earners, I have witnessed every one of them get hung up by their self-imposed limitations. Most are really good at what they do but make client attraction way too hard. They attract only a fraction of the clients they want, and they’re definitely not loving the process.
